Overview Report Appendix Project List

Overview

The Overview depicts the general requirements for the Low-Battery Level Detector. There are different degrees of functionality for the detector and this version of the project displays certain characteristics. There are also constraints regarding the voltage and charging of the lithium ion battery. The battery has a safe operating temperature for both charging and discharging phases.

Report

The Report includes an introduction to this project, the methods applied, the results obtained, lessons learned, and references used. The main design of the Low-battery level detector consists of the lithium ion battery and voltage comparator circuit. The software used to build this detector was the Galaxy Custom Designer, which includes many functions, such as the Schematic Editor, Simulation and Analysis Environment (SAE), HSPICE (Hailey Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis), and netlist. The Schematic Editor is the tool for the schematic capture of the constructed electrical circuits. While the SAE, HSPICE, and netlist work together to construct valid circuits and simulate their function.

Appendix

The Appendix displays the settings and results in the prototype of the detector. They were not included in the main build of the detector because they simulated errors, which did not satisfy the requirements for a valid detector. Figures that were referred from the textbook are also included here.
